According to Leonard Karp, President and CEO, a technology that is rapid, reliable, and easy-to-use in automated systems is paramount to developing cutting-edge genomic applications. "The success of the Human Genome Project is creating a demand for a new generation of nucleic acid isolation system... Automation is the key to fulfilling today's exponential demand. Economics, reliability and speed of nucleic acid isolation can only be realized by technology designed for automation."
The MagaZorb Nucleic Acid Isolation System was developed to maximize the performance of automated platforms. Streamlining the sample handling process and incorporating Cortex Biochem's proprietary magnetizable particles technology eliminate the requirement for additional equipment such as centrifuges, columns, and vacuum systems. Its simplicity and high yield increases sample throughput and reduces errors, resulting in significantly enhanced performance and cost-savings. Recognizing contemporary environmental demands, MagaZorb does not require organic solvents, including ethanol.
Applications have been developed for use with a broad range of starting materials such as whole blood, buffy-coat, leukocytes, and cultured cells. Many more are under development emphasizing reliability of processing results, even with very complex samples.
MagaZorb processed samples are immediately ready for subsequent downstream applications such as PCR, sequencing or blotting procedures.
