Increasing the overall size of the antigen-antibody complex results in increased signal strength and assay sensitivity. CORTEX BIOCHEM offers several antigens and antibodies which provide mechanisms for signal enhancement and antibody bridging. Bridging will occur when a hapten on one antibody is recognized by a second label antibody; this allows for the introduction of an additional detection mechanism.

CORTEX BIOCHEM provides streptavidin (isolated from Streptomyces avidinii) conjugated to a variety of enzyme and fluorophore labels. These reagents may be used with biotin conjugated antibodies or biotinylated nucleotides. The reagents are optimized for use in advanced fluorescent assays including Immunofluorescent Microscopy (IFA), Flow Cytometry, Fluorescent In-Situ Hybridization (FISH), Anti-Nuclear Antibody (ANA) detection, and High Throughput Screening (HTS).
