Secondary Antibodies are available against Bovine, Cat, Chicken, Dog, Goat, Guinea Pig, Hamster, Horse, Human, Monkey, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat, Sheep, and Swine IgG, Fc fragments, F(ab’)2 fragments, and IgMs. Each Affinity Purified Secondary Antibody is offered unconjugated or conjugated to Fluorescein, Rhodamine, Texas Red, Biotin, Alkaline Phosphatase or Horseradish Peroxidase.
Preadsorbed Secondary Antibodies
Selected Affinity Purified Secondary Antibodies are further processed by solid phase adsorption against serum proteins from a variety of animal species to minimize cross reactivity to these species. All conjugated antibodies are produced employing well-characterized conjugation chemistries to preserve the maximum activity of both antibody and enzyme in the conjugated product.
Enzyme Conjugates
Alkaline Phosphatase (calf intestinal) and Horseradish Peroxidase conjugated F(ab')2 fragments of Affinity-Purified Secondary Antibodies are offered by Cortex Biochem. These conjugates are produced employing well-characterized conjugation chemistries to preserve the maximum activity of both the antibody and the enzyme.
Fluorophore Conjugates
Fluorescein Isothiocyanate (FITC), Tetramethyl Rhodamine Isothiocyanate (TRITC), Texas Red, and Phycoerythrin fluorescent molecules are covalently coupled to F(ab')2 fragments of Affinity-Purified Secondary Antibodies. These Fluorophore Affinity-Purified Secondary Antibody Conjugates can be used in Immunohistochemistry for the localization of organelles, Cell-Sorting, Immunostaining, Double-Label Experiments, and Antigen Detection. The molecular ratio of the fluorophore to protein (F/P ratio) is optimized to minimize inter-molecular fluorescence quenching, while retaining maximum immunoreactivity of the secondary antibodies.
Biotin Conjugates
Biotin conjugates of proteins and antibodies are recommended for use with conjugates of Streptavidin (Streptomyces avidinii) and Avidin (hen egg white). Cortex Biochem's conjugates are prepared with a biotin molecule that contains a long spacer arm between the biotin and the protein of interest, which minimizes steric hindrance and maximizes binding.
Magnetic Particle Conjugates
